I have always enjoyed my lessons with Di. She has a great ability to understand both horse and rider, recognising their traits or habits, and changing these into positive, confident riding skills. She also becomes a good friend and supporter.
My 14.1hh Anglo Arab, Mr C, can have quite an attitude to say the least, but despite his protests and constant ‘swearing’ Di always manages to get the best out of him which gives me the confidence to try anything. We’ve become quite a team.
In the past, our lessons have been aimed at being capable and fit enough to compete successfully in endurance rides. With Mr C now in his 21st year and following treatment for annular ligament/flexor tendon sheath injuries to both hind legs, Di has replaced our training sessions with regular “yoga” classes concentrating on keeping Mr C supple and strong, rather than putting him through lots of hard exercise, and in turn help maintain fitness. This really works for us and hopefully means we can continue to take part in a few more long distance rides for a while to come. Thanks Di!
